The Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança (INET-md) is an interdisciplinary research unit with headquarters at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH-UNL) and three branches at the Departamento de Comunicação e Arte, Universidade de Aveiro (DeCA-UA), the Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, Universidade de Lisboa (FMH-UL) and the Escola Superior de Educação, Instituto Politécnico do Porto (ESE-IPP).

 

INET-md promotes multidisciplinary research, creation and performance in the domains of music and dance. The Institute also provides doctoral training and other post-graduate programs. Its members develop research and cultural activities targeted to especialists and to the general public. INET-md also engages in collaborative projects with communities as well as local, national and international institutions.

The Faculdade de Ciênciais Sociais e Humanas (FCSH) is the largest and most diverse Portuguese higher education and research institution in the Social Sciences and Humanities. It covers Communication and Language Sciences, Artistic and Literary Studies, Philosophy, History and Archaeology, Anthropology, Demography, Geography, Sociology, Political Studies and International Relations, as well as intersections between these disciplines.
